At the Stream Receding

Man stands holding prey, his scaled fish.

Wire runs through flesh, throat,

to his spinal cord and cage, like LEDs

through evergreens indoors.

Time-dark

Now and then divide

by something sheer,

a shore. Light breaks.

Light slides out.
